Fantastic project and goal from kkim20 on Hackster.io:The Green Box was an idea that I had for a long time, and was able to make into a reality this summer. I’ve always been interested in hydroponics because of its efficiency and environmental sustainability. 90% less water is used in hydroponics systems than in soil, no pesticides are needed (great for insects and ecosystems!), and nutrient broth can be created from compost! So, I got the idea to create a fully automated hydroponics system. The goal is to allow people to grow their own food with relatively 0 work and to promote sustainable living.
