Something is going wrong with my Raspberry Slideshow setup, it is not playing media I’ve put in the USB key or it is not seeing remote images or videos, what to have a look to?

Setting DEBUG=”y” in /etc/rs.conf enables the debug mode.
System actions will then be logged in /var/log/rs.log.

System will log all the media ready to be slided, if it has mounted a remote share and any other useful things.

SSH in as root and use mc -e /etc/rs.conf to modify the config file and cat /var/log/rs.log to see the logs.

If you prefer to debug directly via SSH, which is preferred for more advanced users, just SSH in as root, stop the rs Systemd service (systemctl stop rs), enable the DEBUG mode (see the previous answer), go to the folder where Raspberry Slideshow is installed, /usr/lib/rs, (cd /usr/lib/rs) and launch rs.sh: bash rs.sh.

System will log on-screen.

Please DO NOT contact me if you don’t have the DEBUG mode output to send. This way it’ll be easier to send me the content of rs.log, if necessary.
