The vivo V30 5G has officially been launched in South Africa.

It is the latest device from the Chinese phone maker and sits within the premium mid-range segment.

One of its defining features is a trio of 50MP cameras – two on the rear and one up front.
In recent years vivo has methodically introduced new smartphones into the South African market. Given just how crowded and competitive said market is, the Chinese phone maker has been careful not to bring too many models to SA, and instead focused on options it thinks will do well locally.

The latest offering in this regard is the vivo V30 5G. As the name clearly lays out, it is a new 5G capable device that boasts an impressive camera array at an affordable price point within the premium mid-range segment.

Looking closer at the camera system made available here, the vivo V30 5G features a trio of 50MP lenses, with two on the rear and one up front for selfies. As such, there is a clear emphasis on photography and videography. The front and back 50MP cameras also feature a respective 92-degree and 119-degree field of view for group shots in particular.

Other noteworthy elements to this device include the fact that it is the thinnest smartphone in the world sporting a 5 000mAh battery at 7.45mm. Said battery also supports 80W FlashCharge which can take it from zero to 100 percent capacity in 48 minutes of charging.

Sticking with the internals an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor is present, which assist with the aforementioned 5G connectivity. This is paired with a generous 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, meaning this latest premium device is packing as close to flagship components as you can find right now.

In terms of pricing, the vivo V30 5G is recommended to retail for R19 999, with it being sold in two colour options – Waving Aqua and Noble Black.
